Sharron Angle is One of Us
Mark Levin: Sharron Angle best choice to defeat Harry Reid
60 Plus Association honors Sharron Angle
The Chairman of the 60 Plus Association, a national non-partisan senior citizens group, announced today that Sharron Angle has received the Benjamin Franklin Award because “she has vowed to vote in the U.S. Senate to repeal this terrible ‘death’ tax.” Angle is running in the Republican primary in order to replace Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) in November. Reid has voted time and again to retain the Death Tax, which hurts small business owners and farmers all over Nevada.
60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin noted, “It was Franklin who famously said there are two certainties in life, death and taxes, but because of the estate or ‘death’ tax, there is a third certainty—- taxes after death. 60 Plus decided to give a Benjamin Franklin award to those who support repeal.
“On April 13, 2005, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 8 by a 110 vote margin, 272-162, to repeal the death tax. Over 40 Democrats, including eight members of the Congressional Black Caucus, voted to abolish this anti-business tax. This makes it crystal clear this is not a tax break for the rich. That’s nonsense. The rich set up trust funds and foundations to protect their assets. It’s small businesses, especially first generation, newly-emerging, minority-owned, small family run businesses that suffer the most. While repeal passed the House by over 100 votes, you might wonder why it didn’t pass in the Senate. One reason – Harry Reid made sure it did not get the necessary 60 votes needed for final repeal. The rate dropped to zero during 2010 but will spring back to life in 2011 unless repeal passes the Senate.
“So, it is with a great deal of pride that 60 Plus honors Sharron Angle with the Benjamin Franklin Award because if Sharron Angle has her way, we will get rid of that third certainty—taxes after death—and make Mr. Franklin’s famous quote accurate once again. 60 Plus calls on nearly 5.5 million seniors nationally for support, including 63,000 seniors in the Silver State, so I believe I can speak on behalf of seniors when I say that they can count on Sharron Angle.”
Martin concluded, “Sharron knows a bad tax when she sees one and the death tax is an unfair tax. I’ve been credited by many, most notably Bill Gates, Sr. in his book, Wealth and Our Commonwealth: Why America Should Tax Accumulated Fortunes, with popularizing ‘death tax’ for the estate tax. Why do I call it that? Because it’s triggered only by death. Senior citizens know they can always depend on Sharron Angle to abolish this anti-farmer, anti-senior, anti-small business, job-robbing confiscatory tax.”
Time for a Pro
Las Vegas Tribune endorses Sharron Angle for U.S. Senate
It is now official: we are endorsing Sharron Angle for the position of US Senate that is occupied today by Senator Harry Reid.
Sharron Angle is, in our opinion, the best choice for that position and we think that her impeccable record will be an asset to represent Nevada in the nation's capital as our next United States Senator for Nevada.
We know Sharron Angle personally, and she is the only candidate that has reached out to the people of Clark County. She is the only candidate that wanted to know what the people of Clark County really want and need.
Sharron Angle is the only candidate that had requested to sit with the newspaper that reaches the masses, the working people, the people that are in need of being heard by those who are going to represent the people of Nevada in the nation's capital.
Hotel owners have spokespersons speaking for them, and on many occasions they speak directly to the candidates. Candidates want to make sure that
they will get a good contribution from the hotels, and sometime the hotel- or casino-owner wants to make sure that the candidate knows they are giving that "good" contribution.
The people do not have spokespersons speaking for them. They trust us because we would not lie to them, and we do not have any hidden agenda.
When we endorsed two candidates in North Las Vegas' last election, we did not expect any favor in return.
One lost and the other one won and no one from this newspaper ever visited or spoke with either candidate any more. We want only what is the best for our community.
We have expressed our belief that Sue Lowden is not running for the US Senate seat to take the incumbent senator out of office, but that she is running to help him to stay in Washington D.C. one more term.
We believe that if Sue Lowden wins the Republican nomination, she will not put up a very good fight to unseat her friend and will instead help him win one
more time.
And if we are wrong with that philosophy, then we have to say that Sue Lowden is a very ungrateful person who cannot be trusted at all because trying to unseat the man that helped her husband to become a millionaire and running against the man who opened the doors for them to be where they are today is
a very ungrateful move on her part and shows she cannot be trusted.
Danny Tarkanian is a very bright young man who has run with good luck on his side for some time now, but that is all.
We agree with some of his thinking when it comes to immigration issues and we agree with him on a few more things, but he does not have the schooling and the experience to replace Harry Reid.
Tarkanian is running on his last name that, by the way, is not the most highly-regarded and prestigious last name if we were to take into consideration the
black eye that his father left in Las Vegas when he was the UNLV coach. (And remember that the younger Tarkanian was the assistant coach at the time, and as such, was right in the middle of the whole thing.)
He ran twice for office and did not win because people were aware of what the name Tarkanian means, is, and represents.
Our choice is made on merit and is done on the record created by Sharron Angle as a conservative assemblywoman for four terms. After meeting with Ms. Angle on three different occasions and listening to her speak, we believe she is the best choice.
We agree with Ms. Angle when she says, “Don't read my lips, read my record!” Her record is clean and she is honest.
She does not use double-talk; she does not hesitate when she is going to answer any question, and she does not change her opinion or her mind to please the crowd she is facing.
We are proud to endorse Sharron Angle for the US Senate seat that has been occupied by Harry Reid for the last three decades.

Republican Congressional Candidate Allen West (FL-22)
Leads Incumbent in Initial Survey
Republican 22nd Congressional Candidate Allen West leads the incumbent Congressman 44% – 42% in a survey conducted by Wilson Research Strategies on April 18-19, 2010.
“This poll confirms what I have been seeing in person – my campaign has made significant inroads on the ground here in the 22nd Congressional District,” said Allen West. “I will continue to hit the pavement, speak to South Floridians, and actually listen to what people are saying – something my opponent has avoided at all costs.”
West adds, “Although the results from this survey are promising, we are not complacent, realizing that the numbers on Election Day are the most important. The West Congressional campaign will press forward as if this were 2008, when the polls at this time showed Klein 49%, West 22%. We are focused and determined to unleash the most powerful Congressional ground game that South Florida will ever see to achieve victory in November.”
West is now known by nearly 50% of the Congressional district and has a favorable to unfavorable ratio of 3-1 (23%-8%). Klein’s is viewed unfavorably by nearly one-third of the district (31%) and trails West even though over 90% of the voters have heard of Klein.
“This survey shows that how out of touch the politics practiced and preached by Ron Klein in Washington have become with the citizens of Florida’s 22nd Congressional District,” said Josh Grodin, Campaign Manager for Allen West for Congress. “He is clearly in trouble, so I’d be expecting desperation to become an overall theme of his campaign.”

National Conservative Leader Phyllis Schlafly Endorses Sharron Angle in GOP Senate Bid
Says voters can’t afford to gamble on choice of Republican candidate to oppose Reid
Saying that Nevada Republican voters “can’t afford to gamble on their choice of a Republican candidate to oppose Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid,” Phyllis Schlafly, the President of Eagle Forum PAC and one of the leading conservative activists in the U.S. today, endorsed Sharron Angle for U.S. Senate in the upcoming June 8th Primary.
Said Schlafly, who has been the leader in keeping the pro-life and pro-family planks in the National GOP Platform, “I have known and respected Sharron Angle for many years for her continued leadership in promoting limited government, low taxes, the protection of innocent life, and 2nd Amendment Rights in Nevada. Sharron Angle is a woman who knows who she is and what she believes."
Schlafly continued, “Conservatives know what they are getting with Sharron Angle. She has the character, ability, and proven commitment to conservative values required to defeat Harry Reid in November. I strongly endorse Sharron Angle for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate and I hope that Nevada Republicans will decide to support her too.”
MSNBC: Allen West, Conservative Trailblazer?
“Tragedy at Fort Hood” by Lt. Col Allen B. West
“Tragedy at Ft Hood”
Lieutenant Colonel Allen B West (US Army, Ret)
This past Thursday 13 American Soldiers were killed and another 30 wounded at a horrific mass shooting at US Army installation, Ft Hood Texas. As I watched in horror and then anger I recalled my two years of final service in the Army as a Battalion Commander at Ft Hood, 2002-2004.
My wife and two daughters were stunned at the incident having lived on the post in family housing.
A military installation, whether it is Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, or Coast Guard, is supposed to be a safe sanctuary for our Warriors and their families. It is intended to provide a home whereby our “Band of Brothers and Sisters” can find solace and bond beyond just the foxhole but as family units.
A military installation is supposed to be a place where our Warriors train for war, to serve and protect our Nation.
On Thursday, 5 November 2009 Ft Hood became a part of the battlefield in the war against Islamic totalitarianism and state sponsored terrorism.
There may be those who feel threatened by my words and would even recommend they not be uttered. To those individuals I say step aside because now is not the time for cowardice. Our Country has become so paralyzed by political correctness that we have allowed a vile and determined enemy to breach what should be the safest place in America, an Army post.
We have become so politically correct that our media is more concerned about the stress of the shooter, Major Nidal Malik Hasan. The misplaced benevolence intending to portray him as a victim is despicable. The fact that there are some who have now created an entire new classification called; “pre-virtual vicarious Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)” is unconscionable.
This is not a “man caused disaster”. It is what it is, an Islamic jihadist attack.
We have seen this before in 2003 when a SGT Hasan of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) threw hand grenades and opened fire into his Commanding Officer’s tent in Kuwait. We have seen the foiled attempt of Albanian Muslims who sought to attack Ft Dix, NJ. Recently we saw a young convert to Islam named Carlos Bledsoe travel to Yemen, receive terrorist training, and return to gun down two US Soldiers at a Little Rock, Arkansas Army recruiting station. We thwarted another Islamic terrorist plot in North Carolina which had US Marine Corps Base, Quantico as a target.
What have we done with all these prevalent trends? Nothing.
What we see are recalcitrant leaders who are refusing to confront the issue, Islamic terrorist infiltration into America, and possibly further into our Armed Services. Instead we have a multiculturalism and diversity syndrome on steroids.
Major Hasan should have never been transferred to Ft Hood, matter of fact he should have been Chaptered from the Army. His previous statements, poor evaluation reports, and the fact that the FBI had him under investigation for jihadist website posting should have been proof positive.
However, what we have is a typical liberal approach to find a victim, not the 13 and 30 Soldiers and Civilian, but rather the poor shooter. A shooter who we are told was a great American, who loved the Army and serving his Nation and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) stating that his actions had nothing to do with religious belief.
We know that Major Hasan deliberately planned this episode; he did give away his possessions. He stood atop a table in the confined space of the Soldier Readiness Center shouting “Allahu Akhbar”, same chant as the 9-11 terrorists and those we fight against overseas in the Iraq and Afghanistan theaters of operation.
No one in leadership seems willing to sound the alarm for the American people; they are therefore complicit in any future attacks. Our Congress should suspend the insidious action to vote on a preposterous and unconstitutional healthcare bill and resolve the issue of “protecting the American people”.
The recent incidents in Dearborn Michigan, Boston Massachusetts, Dallas Texas, and Chicago Illinois should bear witness to the fact that we have an Islamic terrorism issue in America. And don’t have CAIR call me and try to issue a vanilla press statement; they are an illegitimate terrorist associated organization which should be disbanded.
We have Saudi Arabia funding close to 80% of the mosques in the United States, one right here in South Florida, Pompano Beach. Are we building churches and synagogues in Saudi Arabia? Are “Kaffirs” and “Infidels” allowed travel to Mecca?
So much for peaceful coexistence.
Saudi Arabia is sponsoring radical Imams who enter into our prisons and convert young men into a virulent Wahabbist ideology….one resulting in four individuals wanting to destroy synagogues in New York with plastic explosives. Thank God the explosives were dummy. They are sponsoring textbooks which present Islamic centric revisionist history in our schools.
We must recognize that there is an urgent need to separate the theo-political radical Islamic ideology out of our American society. We must begin to demand surveillance of suspected Imams and mosques that are spreading hate and preaching the overthrow of our Constitutional Republic……that speech is not protected under First Amendment, it is sedition and if done by an American treason.
There should not be some 30 Islamic terrorist training camps in America that has nothing to do with First Amendment, Freedom of Religion. The Saudis are not our friends and any American political figure who believes such is delusional.
When tolerance becomes a one way street it certainly leads to cultural suicide. We are on that street. Liberals cannot be trusted to defend our Republic, because their sympathies obviously lie with their perceived victim, Major Nidal Malik Hasan.
I make no apologies for these words, and anyone angered by them, please, go to Ft Hood and look into the eyes of the real victims. The tragedy at Ft Hood Texas did not have to happen. Consider now the feelings of those there and on every military installation in the world. Consider the feelings of the Warriors deployed into combat zones who now are concerned that their loved ones at home are in a combat zone.
Ft Hood suffered an Islamic jihadist attack, stop the denial, and realize a simple point.
The reality of your enemy must become your own.
Steadfast and Loyal,
Lieutenant Colonel Allen B West (US Army, Ret)
With no teleprompters, no speech writers – just a couple of note cards in hand, Candidate Colonel Allen B. West is one of our movement’s most gifted speakers – and a born leader. He has many amazing speeches that he has given on the “War on Terror” at home and abroad. To think that the Fort Hood Massacre occurred just a short time after this particular speech was given...Allen has a true understanding what our country is up against – our current Administration is just blind to it or has completely given in to political correctness. Just listen for yourself – maybe our Commander in Chief could learn a thing or two from this distinguished and battle tested warrior. Happy Veterans Day Allen – We at Base Connect all appreciate what you have done for our country and our safety!

Born Leader Allen West Brings His Military Experience to the Congressional Race

August 2009
Colonel Allen B. West
For the second time in four years, retired Lt. Col. Allen West will attempt to become a U.S. congressman from Florida’s 22nd District. For the 2010 election, however, he will be running with the full support of the National Republican Congressional Committee.
“We really surprised a lot of people at the federal level,” Col. West said in an exclusive interview with The Washington Times.
With limited funding, the NRCC was focused on congressional races in 2008 that were close and probable victories for the Republican Party, but not in Col. West’s campaign. “When it comes to NRCC and party structure, they probably saw me as a risk, because they thought I was new to the scene and we were putting together an eight-month campaign... click here to read more.

The state’s most vocal conservative is the first candidate to officially announce for the 2009 gubernatorial race. The former mayor of Bogota’s strong antitax and anti-immigration stands have gained him statewide and even national recognition. The head of the Jersey chapter of Americans for Prosperity, an antitax group, Lonegan, 52, recently has taken on Governor Corzine’s ethics-reform plan, calling it an assault on the freedoms of speech and assembly. (He even managed to get himself arrested on trespassing charges at a town hall meeting held by the governor.) An increasingly tax-weary populace provides Lonegan a base for his gubernatorial run.—JPC

The Man Who Could Topple Jack Murtha
July 2008
A jaw-dropping political miracle may be on the horizon. No, I'm not talking about the second coming of the Obamessiah. I'm talking about the long-deserved comeuppance of troop-smearing, pork-feasting, scandal-tainted Democratic Rep. Jack Murtha of Pennsylvania.
The 18-term congressman's challenger, staunch conservative Republican newcomer William Russell, raised nearly $670,000 in the second fundraising quarter. Earmark king Murtha scraped together a measly $119,000. Russell's underdog campaign bested Murtha without the perks of incumbency, national name recognition, big PAC donations or mainstream media support.

Featuring Base Connect Client: Robin Hayes for Congress
December 2007
We are so honored to be working with Congressman Hayes and his campaign staff this cycle. Robin’s Pro-Family and Pro-Business positions make him and his work so vital not only to the residents of the 8th district of North Carolina, but also to the entire Nation. He has been targeted by Nancy Pelosi and the DNCC as one of their top five races in 2008.
On December 4th Kimberly & Jeff hosted a fundraiser for Congressman Hayes in their Washington DC residence which netted the campaign thousands of dollars! "We are so proud to be working with Robin and his re-election campaign! The Congress needs more men of principle and integrity like Robin," says Kimberly.
